2026 Topps Chrome Samurai Japan is a baseball card release that takes a look at the top stars of the Japanese national team. In particular, the set looks at the Japanese stars of the 2026 World Baseball Classic. The emergence of big name Japanese players in professional baseball is nothing new, with names such as Ichiro and Hideko Matsui being well known for their success. In recent years stars such as Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamota, and Roki Sasaki have all become household names for MLB fans, particularly for the LA Dodgers. This set includes most of those names, and more. The release offers a mix of base, parallels, autos, and inserts, with each set also offering a 1/1 SuperFractor variation. Collector’s format boxes include 2 #’d parallels and 1 insert each and a full breakdown of the release will be available at Breakninja.com.

Matt’s Opinion: This is an interesting concept, the Japanese stars are certainly making an impact so it makes sense to do a dedicated set. The cards are attractive and could bring a good return on the right cards. Note that the release has been pushed back by 2 weeks due to Topps releasing incorrect odds at the time of initial release.
