2026 Topps Rugby Legends is a premium release and a rare example of rugby cards making it to the mainstream. While rugby cards have appeared at the local level with individual teams and leagues issuing cards, this is the first high-end version from a major company that I have come across. The release offers 4 cards per pack, including 2 encased autos and 2 encased base. The chase cards for the set will come from the selection of on-card autos, which are limited to 5 key names from England, Ireland, and Wales. Topps has stated that exact print runs may vary by player, and have not stated whether or not the on-card autos are included in the main auto checklist or as a separate set. Matt’s Opinion: It is always fun to see sports that are less represented get a major release. These are some great looking cards and should make rugby fans very happy. I am completely in the dark on the rugby market and won’t even pretend to have any clue on the value of these cards.
